Pastor Matt Cagle

Pastor Matt has been married to his beautiful wife, Alison, for over 17 years. They are blessed with a son, Haddon (8), and a daughter, Corrie (5). He has been working in churches since he was 18. He was a part of a successful church plant in San Diego, CA, and he has been privileged to pastor for the last eight years. He has a bachelor's degree in Biblical Studies from Dallas Baptist University, Masters of Divinity from Southern California Seminary, and he is currently enrolled in the Doctor of Ministry program at The Master's Seminary

Russell Shelton

After futile attempts to govern his own life, he began to surrender and walk according to God's Word in the late seventies.  From New Orleans to Dallas (20 Years), from Dallas to Phoenix (25 years) and returning to Dallas (5 years ago), he dropped anchor in Wylie to fellowship at Risen Church (February 2023) where he cheerfully serves as an elder. Although traveling and playing pickleball keep him active, his greatest joy is in the Lord. Russell and his beautiful wife, Jacquelyn, are empty-nesters, but children, grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren are nearby. According to both of them, from God’s Word, they are BLESSED!

Lyle Yarnell

Lyle Yarnell grew up in Plano having lived there since 1966.  Although being in a family that attended a church faithfully, it wasn’t until after high school that Lyle came to see and profess who Christ really is.  In 1984 Lyle married his high school sweetheart, Evelyn. They have two sons, a daughter, a son-in-law, and a daughter-in-law. Throughout his life, Lyle has enjoyed riding motorcycles, leading scout troops, and science. He has seen through his studies of Physics and Cellular Biology how God’s “invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made.” (Romans 1:20) Lyle believes that his role as an elder at Risen Church of Wylie is an honor and a responsibility that enables him to extend the love for Christ to this body of believers.

Jay Cook

Jay was blessed to marry his beautiful wife Tina over 30 years ago. God has blessed them with two wonderful children and a daughter-in-law. God also added a beautiful granddaughter to the family who loves her "Nina" and "Grumpy.” Some of Jay’s favorite things to do are camping, hiking, bike riding, and exploring new coffee shops, and he also enjoys taking boxing classes with his daughter. Jay is fluent in ASL and has been involved in various Deaf ministries over the years. He sees it as a great privilege to serve His Lord and Savior Jesus Christ by serving as an elder at Risen Church.
